Auckland Grammar School:
Auckland Grammar School hosted this year’s annual 1st XV game against King’s College on Saturday was yet again another classic encounter that matched the rivalry of previous years.
In near perfect conditions, the game was played at a frantic pace with both teams wanting to shift the ball which added to the overall spectacle for all to enjoy.
In the first half, King’s made the most of their attacking opportunities and took an early three-point lead through a penalty. Grammar were guilty of lacking a little patience at times and this lead to gifting King’s possession and territory. Given the opportunities King’s had to strike from, the team did scramble well on defence and this proved to be critical by game end.
